I was out and about today in Ashland, Oregon, connecting with our local booksellers and library, handing out the fancy postcard I designed and had printed for Murder at Last Chance Cove. Libraries and bookstores have been the great loves of my life, and they still are. Here in Ashland we have three bookstores! One general interest store for new books: Bloomsbury Books. One children’s bookstore: Treehouse Books. And one secondhand-plus-new-books store: The Book Exchange.
While I got my steps in (9,364 so far…!), I listened to the wonderful Patricia Rodriguez narrating the audiobook of Murder at Last Chance Cove and watched as the ebook version soared to #1 in the cozy mystery category on Amazon. Needless to say, it was a very good day for Saffi and me. It was so exciting I had to take a screenshot!

I bought my first books from Amazon when they started out as simply an online bookseller. At the time, I lived in Crescent City, California. Crescent City had a sweet little library, but not a single bookstore. I was overjoyed to be able to order books and have them delivered to my mailbox. I still am, and now I can get them on my Kindle as well.
Speaking of Crescent City, if you read Murder at Last Chance Cove and know the Pacific Northwest, you might be able to guess something other readers don’t yet know. If you do, I’d love to hear about it!
